NoMAD is a menu bar application for Mac, that helps you manage your Active Directory password. With NoMAD you can sign into your Active Directory account, change your password, find out when your password expires and other AD tasks.
While the NoMAD app can be a great tool to help users bound to Active Directory (AD), its main purpose is to help move Macs from binding to AD while still getting all of the functionality. This allows us to keep our users on local accounts (for enhanced experience, with management from an MDM like Jamf) and let NoMAD manage their interaction with AD by allowing them to sign in with their AD account to get Kerberos tickets, certificates for 802.1X connections and other functions without having to have a mobile account.
NoMAD also includes:
• Single sign-on
• Password synchronization
• Enforcing password changes from AD
• Admin’s helper
• And more
Use Case
NoMAD is the perfect solution for any organisation that has Macs that aren’t currently bound in to their Active Directory. As NoMAD can help you to align your Mac policies with your AD, it could be used to support in your Cyber Essentials certification.
